The
Arkansas Children's Behavioral Health Care Commission, chaired by
Judge Joyce Warren, will
provide
advice and guidance to the Department of Human Services and
other state agencies providing behavioral health care
services to children, youth and their families on the most
effective methods for establishing a system of care
approach.
Representatives of families/youth, community partners,
service providers, and state agency leaders were selected to serve on the Arkansas Children's
Behavioral Health Care Commission by Governor Mike Beebe.
With
the creation of the Arkansas Children's Behavioral Health
Care Commission, the System of Care Stakeholders Planning
Committee ceased to exist. The efforts the
Stakeholders Planning Committee prior to 8 / 30 / 2007 can be found
on this
website, with the work of new Arkansas Children's Behavioral
Health Care Commission will be located
HERE.
The
Arkansas Department of Human Services organized an
intensive, public-private stakeholder planning effort to
transform children’s behavioral health. The resulting
Arkansas System of Care Stakeholders Planning Committee will
make short- and long-term recommendations to DHS and policy
makers to develop a System of Care for children’s behavior
health in Arkansas.
Representatives of youth, their families, community partners,
service providers, and state agency leaders serve on the
Stakeholders Planning Committee (SPC). Every effort was made
to ensure balance across stakeholder groups, expertise,
interests, and vantage points.
